About Me

Hi I’m Gemma, author, freelance writer and full time mum living in the French Alps.

In 2018 I lost my unborn son Archie, two weeks before the birth of him and his twin sister Ayla. Then when my daughter was six months old I began an arduous year long battle with breast cancer. Now, in the aftermath, I am focusing on rebuilding my life and being the best Mum I can be.

Before my pregnancy I spent 10+ years working in childcare during which I had a candid insight into the complexities of raising children, and gained a ton of invaluable experience. Becoming a mother myself, losing a baby and my run in with cancer have given me a renewed understanding and unique perspective on parenting and all aspects of life.

Through navigating my own struggles I learned the value of sharing the nitty gritty, in validating and reassuring others. Knowing you are not alone is a precious and powerful resource. So, join me for discussions around a wide range of topics, laughs and tears, plus tried and tested family friendly recipes.
